Welcome to TOUGH TIMES – the website of Canadian author Phil Lychkov. Born in the 1970s in an ex-Soviet block country, he survived the Chernobyl radiation apocalypse in the mid-1980s, and went on to live through not one, but two hyperinflationary and social crises in his country during the 1990s.
After the 2008 economic crisis, now known as “The Great Recession”, he started to detect many symptoms of an upcoming economic depression – symptoms he had already witnessed during his country’s economic crash.
His first book, “Surviving Tough Times”, is the story of living through an economic meltdown, and a warning: It will get worse before it starts to get better!
His second book, “Backyard Farming during Tough Times”, was born out of his life experience – being as self-sufficient as possible was the means to surviving, and even having a decend quality of life, in a reality of empty stores and skyrocketing prices.
